21st Century Learners at Buford
Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Virginia is partnering with Buford Middle School to provide a 21st Century Community Learning Center, exclusively available to 7th and 8th grade Buford students at no cost. A national program for out-of-school time academic support, the 21st Century Learners at Buford (21stCLB) program provides targeted reading and math instruction to help students improve on standardized testing and stay on grade level. Participants will benefit from a low teacher to student ratio to receive increased and specialized support. Participants will also have access to Boys & Girls Club enrichment programs focused on preparing teens for future success, including career prep, financial literacy, STEM, art, and wellness.
21st CLB will begin programs in January 2021 on Tuesdays and Thursdays before fully launching in February with Monday through Friday programming. Due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols, there is a maximum attendance of 24 students per day.
